What is Web & Email Forwarding
Web & email forwarding
Web and mail forwarding enables you to make use of your existing
web space or email account, these are most often provided freely
as part of your internet access package (e.g. Freeserve). Most often
this takes the form of www.yourname.ISPname.co.uk we can forward
traffic from your new domain such as www.newname.co.uk transparently
to the web users, so that anybody using your new web address would
be forwarded to your existing web site.
This is again achieved for your existing email account so you can
start using your new email such as new@newname.co.uk without having
to change your existing account or ISP.
For more information see our silver package description.
What if my First Choice is Unavailable
If the name you want is unavailable you are faced with a number
of alternatives. Domain names are issued on a first come first served
basis, so the easiest option is to simply choose another domain
name.
You could try one of the alternative top or second level domain
names (you can ask our multi domain search to check against these
options)or slightly change the grammar of the domain name you require
(a good tip is try the same name but with either a hyphen(-) or
a number included.
If you are not happy with a variant of your domain name and believe
that you hold a legal right to the name already registered (most
commonly due to Trademark), you can pursue ownership of the desired
name through legal means by following the appropriate dispute procedures.
The naming authority to contact for disputes relating to .co.uk
is Nominet.
